Name of Infrastructure:

DLR FASCar

Description:

The research vehicle FASCar extends the basic ViewCar sensor configuration with the active longitudinal and lateral vehicle control. Powertrain actuators provide the opportunity to execute driving commands up to autonomous driving. The open system architecture of the FASCar provides an optimal development environment for rapid-prototyping of driver assistance systems and for tests and evaluations of third party systems. Partner systems can be integrated either as pure software code running on our hardware or even feature their own ECU, communicating via CAN-bus or Flex Ray.

Application examples:

  • Development of drive-by-wire applications

  • Active safety asisstant systems (advanced longitudinal and lateral guiding)

  • Highly automated up to autonomous driving

  • Development of virtual copilot systems and their interaction with the human driver

  • High precision positioning system based on DGPS and an inertial measurement unit

Target group:

  • Supllier

  • OEMs
  • Intelligent vehicle research groups

  • Public and government bodies
