Assessments of Services and Providers

Local services and their providers will be an important part of the overall Galileo structure. Further services exist with the aim of improving the current GNSS. But services and providers are not limited to the improvement of the GNSS parameters; several services exist which use GNSS as an input. If a service depends on GNSS and addresses safety critical applications, then a certification can provide trust into the service and provider. In some cases the certification will be mandatory. GAUSS will not only certify technical hardware but also the people working with it. This is done by audits to assure that the service is compliant with the applicable standards.
